Professional Experience

Baran Arikan has participated in major M&A transactions and provided his clients assistance during the cooperation and co-management period following the completion of the M&A deals. He advises his clients also with respect to complex co-operation projects, joint ventures, contracts (on both international and national level) and major real estate projects, such as construction, co-ownership and co-management of shopping malls.

Throughout his career, he conducted in-depth research and prepared legal opinions regarding a wide variety of legal areas in accordance with clients’ needs. He has been awarded the highest degree “summa cum laude” by the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main, Germany for this master’s thesis entitled “Gestaltungsrechte des bürgerlichen Rechts, nach deutschem und türkischem Recht, exemplifiziert an Put-und Call-Optionen bei M&A-Transaktionen”, which title may be translated into English as “Autonomous Transformation Rights (Gestaltungsrechte) under German and Turkish Civil Law, exemplified by Put and Call Options in M&A Transactions”. Baran Arikan’s litigation experience focuses on cases regarding breach of commercial contracts.

Baran Arikan is a board member of the ALKEV Foundation (Kultur- und Bildungsstiftung der Absolventen der Deutschen Schule), which manages the ALKEV Schools, a complex of elementary, secondary and high schools having approx. 1,500 pupils, teaching in German, English and Turkish. Within several NGOs, Baran Arikan provides entrepreneurs and members of different sectors with legal advice on corporate law related issues.
